Luxury Item Authentication With Zèya Verify Explained
Luxury item authentication inside Zèya, powered by Entrupy. Learn how to verify supported listings, read certificates, and understand the results.
A designer bag can be exactly your style and still come with one very unglamorous question: is it real?
You shouldn’t need a second career in spotting fake stitching to enjoy a good swap. Luxury item authentication gives you more to go on than a seller’s reassurance or a flattering photo. With Zèya Verify, you can submit a supported item for authentication by Entrupy without leaving the Zèya app. If Entrupy returns an Authentic result, the listing gets a Verified badge and a Certificate of Authenticity that other users can open.
The check is optional. Entrupy performs the authentication; Zèya displays the result. And a badge is an extra layer of trust, not a reason to stop asking questions.
Here’s what that looks like on either side of a swap.
Why Luxury Item Authentication Belongs in a Swap
Your closet is the currency. That only works if you know what you’re trading for.
When you offer a bag you love for someone else’s sneakers, you’re making a decision about both items. The brand matters. So does whether the thing carrying that brand’s name is actually what it claims to be. A convincing listing isn’t enough to settle that.
For the person browsing, uncertainty can stop a promising swap before a conversation starts. For the person listing, explaining that an item is genuine can mean answering the same question again, especially when their profile is new.
Zèya Verify gives that conversation something concrete: Entrupy’s authentication result and, for an Authentic item, a certificate. It doesn’t decide whether the trade is right for you. It helps answer a question that matters before you agree.
What Entrupy Does, in Plain English
Entrupy is a specialist in product authentication. Its technology combines AI with detailed, high-resolution images to assess whether an item is authentic. Those images are compared with records of authentic and counterfeit products, rather than leaving you to judge a logo from a listing photo.[1]
You follow a guided photo process on your phone. You don’t ship the item away for someone to hold and inspect, and you don’t need to know which tiny details matter before you start. The capture flow tells you what to photograph.
That doesn’t mean humans are absent from Entrupy’s process. Entrupy says expert authenticators also review authentications. The useful distinction for you is that the item stays with you while Entrupy assesses the submitted images.[1]
Zèya is an Entrupy licensee. We integrated its technology because authentication needs specialist expertise, not a new label on our own guesswork. That’s why you’ll see Powered by Entrupy in the experience. We provide the place to start the check and see the result. Entrupy provides the authentication.
Which Items Can You Verify?
Not everything with a designer label is eligible.
Entrupy’s published coverage includes bags and leather goods, footwear, and other categories. Its bag brand coverage includes Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci and Prada; its footwear coverage includes Nike, Jordan, Adidas and Reebok. These are examples of Entrupy’s broader coverage, not a promise that every item from those brands can be verified inside Zèya.[2][1][3]
The eligibility check inside Zèya is what matters for your listing. The app checks the brand and item type before you begin. A familiar brand name alone doesn’t mean every category or style is supported.
For current background, you can read Entrupy’s bags and leather goods coverage or footwear coverage. For the item in your hands, start in Zèya and check whether it’s eligible.
How to Verify Your Item in Zèya
No separate authentication app. No parcel to send off.
Choose to verify a supported listing. Verification is optional. You can decide whether to start a check for your item.
Let the app check eligibility. Zèya checks the brand and item type before opening the photo process.
Follow Entrupy’s guided photos. Take the images requested in the capture flow inside Zèya. Follow those instructions rather than assuming your existing listing photos are enough.
Submit the check. Your photos are sent to Entrupy for authentication. You’ll get a push notification when the result comes back.
Read the result. An Authentic result adds a Verified badge and an accessible Certificate of Authenticity to the listing. An Unidentified result stays private to you as the seller.
Keep the actual item with you while taking the photos. This is a check of the item you’re listing, not a search for something similar online.
You don’t need to stay glued to the screen after submitting. Wait for the notification rather than treating submission itself as confirmation that your item is verified.
Authentic and Unidentified Mean Different Things
Entrupy’s authentication outcomes are Authentic and Unidentified. They are not two different ways of saying an item passed or was proved counterfeit.[1]
If the Result Is Authentic
Entrupy has authenticated the item. Zèya displays a Verified badge on the listing, and people considering a swap can open the Certificate of Authenticity.
That gives someone browsing your listing more than your word alone. For a newer seller without much history on the app, it’s a way to offer information before the other person even asks.
It doesn’t make the rest of the listing irrelevant. An authentic bag can still have a worn strap. Genuine sneakers can still be the wrong size for you.
If the Result Is Unidentified
Unidentified does not mean fake. It means Entrupy couldn’t confirm the item’s authenticity.
In Zèya, that result is visible only to the seller. It doesn’t add a public warning or a Verified badge to the listing. Don’t describe the item as authenticated on the strength of an Unidentified result.
The same care applies when you’re browsing. Because verification is optional and only supported items can be checked, the absence of a badge isn’t proof that something is counterfeit. It’s the absence of a displayed Authentic result. Different thing.
Buying or Swapping? Open the Certificate
The badge is the signpost. The certificate is worth opening.
Before agreeing to a swap involving a verified item, open its Certificate of Authenticity from the listing and review the details. Compare what it shows with the item you’re discussing. If something doesn’t line up, ask before committing.
For a look at the format, here’s an example Entrupy certificate. It contains item images, a brand, style and size information, and an issue date. Entrupy also tells readers to trust only certificates hosted on its own domain.[4]
Then read the listing normally. Look at the condition photos. Ask about wear that matters to you, such as damage to a lining or marks on the soles. Authentication addresses authenticity; it isn’t an answer to every question about an item.
You can swipe right because you love the bag. Agree to the swap because you’ve checked the details too.
What Verification Does Not Replace
Verification is an extra layer of trust, not a guarantee. Buyers should still review the listing and ask questions. Zèya displays Entrupy’s result; it does not independently authenticate the item.
A Verified badge also isn’t a reason to rush someone into a trade. If you need another photo or a clearer description of the condition, ask for it. If you’re still uncomfortable, you don’t have to agree.
For sellers, verification doesn’t replace an honest listing either. Photograph the wear. Describe the flaw. A certificate can help with the authenticity conversation without doing the rest of the talking for you.
Where Your Photos Go
The photos you take during verification are sent to Entrupy to run the authentication check. The process starts inside Zèya, but Entrupy receives the images needed to assess the item.
Read Zèya’s Privacy Policy for information about data handling and the Terms of Service for the terms that apply. Being clear about who receives your photos matters just as much as being clear about who performs the check.
